About

Hi, I’m Kendric.

I don’t design it and hand it off. I build it too — which is how one person takes an idea from a sketch to something live.

17+ years designing and building products — Apple, Kaiser Permanente, LiveRamp, Publicis, TXU Energy. Visual design, UI/UX, branding, creative direction, app design, front-end development.

Now building my own products from the ground up, and working with founders who’d rather hire one person than assemble four.

01 — The Long Way Round What travel taught me about design

One backpack. Twenty-four countries. That was the real education.

For six months my office was whatever had power and a table, and the job was redesigning a booking platform the whole way. It changed how I work before it changed how I design.

When the connection is unreliable and your working day is someone else’s night, you stop polishing things nobody has seen. You put the version that exists in front of real people, watch what they actually do with it, and sharpen from there. That habit came home with me and never left.

Then there is what you start to notice. Typography that was never set by a designer. Architecture solving a problem a century before software existed. Colour that means one thing in one country and the opposite two borders away. Different cultures, different constraints, different aesthetics — and underneath all of it, the same small decisions, made well or made carelessly, deciding how a place feels to be in.

Design exists everywhere. You just have to look.

03 — How I Work Three things that decide the outcome
01

Ship it, then sharpen it

Six months redesigning a booking platform out of a backpack taught me that something live beats something perfect in a file. I get a working version in front of real people early, then sharpen it against what they actually do with it.

02

Detail is a form of respect

The empty state, the loading moment, the line that breaks badly on a phone. Nobody is ever asked to notice those, which is exactly why they decide whether a product feels considered or cheap.

03

One person, whole stack

Brand, interface and the code underneath are one argument, not three handoffs. I design it and I build it — so the idea survives the trip to production and nothing waits on a third party.
